exaltron podcast VI: the resurrection

That's right, the exaltron podcast refuses to die!! Not only that, but thanks to my sis (thanks Sue), I remembered that I actually have to post the podcast to the blog to make it show up in iTunes and other blog sites. So, here's the speil:

fans of exaltron and those yet to be assimilated-
I've been conferring with some imaginary market research firms I hired and their data indicates that literally handfuls of people were at one point tuning in to my podcast. So I concluded: I shall get back on the stick vis-a-vis podcasting. This time 'round I bring you:

1. Intro featuring Maria-Stella Fountoulakis as Scary Robot Voice
2. Improvisation no. 3,240,782.5
3. Futuristic hip-hop duo ApSci's "Puttin' on the Fitz" feat. Vursatyl of Lifesavas
4. exaltron's wanderlust remix of "Puttin' on the Fitz"
5. Skit: Bizarre Fetish w/ music from Scott Joplin, Kajagoogoo, and the comedy stylings of Maria-Stella Fountoulakis.
6. Clip and upcoming gig info for cool ethereal rock band The Lost Patrol.
7. Scary Robot Voice wants to hang out

Ok so check it out- it's free entertainment!! What the else are you gonna do while you're waiting for that goddamn MySpace page to load?

podcast 4 + new gig at boogaloo in williamsburg: UPDATE!!

hardcore fans of exaltron know that monday night podcasts are as punchy as they come and this one's no different. As promised, this one features the exaltron drum'n bass version of Don't Dream it's Over (Crowded House) with Tara Perry on vocals and exaltron on all instruments and backing vocals. Also, be sure to not.. um, miss the exaltron interview with my adorable 9-year-old niece Julia, wherein I get to the bottom of what makes Julia think her uncle is so "weird".

UPDATE!!! The Boogaloo gig has been moved to FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9TH!!! It's gonna be ba-na-nas.

Podcast #3: Can I Get a Yes-Man?

Ok, I did say my podcasts would be shorter, but I actually meant to say longer, three minutes longer even. I just don't care. And speaking of longer, I totally lied about the CD, hence the little outburst on this the latest podcast, podcast #3.

For a more focused expression of anger, check this out:

scammin on tha public whichya marxist rhetoric
bloated and hairy like your boys karl and frederick
foaming at the mouth like a rabid animal
economically you're nuttin butta glutinous cannibal

A sweet little ode to Michael Moore and his ilk from the first professionally mixed and mastered tune on the upcoming CD, knocked out by my man Rex Gibson last Saturday at Shabby Road Studios in Williamsburg. If you really need to hear this, feel free to fast forward through the improv section, just keep in mind that this week's improv, 'luckies' is an exaltron podcast exclusive- doesn't sound so lame now does it?

Other news: I'm trying to get a gig at Boogaloo- anybody got a contact over there? I guess I could just call them up and figure out who does their booking. But it seems like it would be a cool place for a gig. Also I'm trying to organize a New Year's Eve party. Hit me up if you have any interest in helping me organize this shizz. It could be bananas.

Finally, I had a good time last week watching and helping to beat this idiot Richard Martin with his own severed limbs when he tried to pass off a completely dishonest and vicious smear of Ayn Rand on an out-of-the-way newsblog called New West Politics (I guess he didn't count on his article coming up on Rand-ar searches like the one I put at the bottom of this blog). Normally "playing whack-a-mole with irrationalists" is not my cup of tea, but in this case I think the point was made that you can't judge a book by what some propaganda spewing leftist tries to attribute to it.

Funkified Podcast #2

A dodgy one, but I daresay entertaining nonetheless. Promised not to rhyme, but you know I got the fever. Unfortunately as it was Monday night, I forgot to make the announcements and shout-outs on the agenda, so that'll be for next time. Listen to the podcast here, or make me ecstatic by subscribing to it (see podcast guide in right-hand colum). I know I have packed some long-ass pieces into single podcasts but I am reforming. I promise the next few will be way shorter and way sweeter.

exaltron podcast on itunes

Screw those payola pansies on mainstream radio! Now that my podcast has been accepted for itunes' new podcast service, I am artist, promoter, programmer, DJ, and executioner! Ok, maybe not executioner, but check it: if you have iTunes, you can click on the "subscribe" link to the right (you may have to open iTunes first), and you will be dumped right into my iTunes page.
Subscribe to my podcast and you'll automatically download all my exaltron radio broadcasts whenever they are released! It'll be just like having an exaltron chip planted in your brain, but requires no anasthesia! If you don't have or don't want iTunes (what's wrong with you?!), just check out the "Podcasting" reference in the right-hand column for a step-by-step on how to download podcasting software, plus one-click subscriptions for Odeo and other applications. For now, you can simply listen to the broadcast here if you don't have the patience: www.exaltron.com/mp3s/podcast1-0.mp3

Highlights of this week's broadcast from underneath a haze of cigarette smoke in a cafe in Pireas, Greece:

1. smug and pointless ramblings over the ridiculously funky exaltron theme song, which many of you know and love if you've heard the outgoing message on my voicemail.
2. a taste of the newly remastered '20,000 Volts' which is cut short by..
3. a phone call from my from my imaginary manager, wherein she takes me to task for trying to play an exaltron single in its entirety
4. an earshot of an instrumental piece from my latest sync CD, alphabet city stomp.

So please check it out, otherwise I will have endured the confused and disgusted stares of Greeks as they watch the crazy American talking to his laptop computer for nothing.

Check it if you please: swingelee.mp3 Just a little nugget sans lyrics for my true podcast heads. This is one of a series of instrumental tracks that I am submitting to Pump Audio in hopes that they will be able to license a piece or two and get me some extra pocket money. Not that I would ever want to make a profit- I know that making money is evil. But hey, I gotta eat right?

cuz we gonna rock this place..

...if you a thug put a sock over your ugly face
no need to disgrace the whole human race
you like death so much, so let's give you a taste

This is from a hot little number called "fun1", of which I've just posted an excerpt here (for more on the background of this piece, check out my original post).

Interestingly, the New York Times had an exceptional editorial today that touched on this same theme: the glorification of death and thuggery in hip-hop that has prevailed since around the time NWA dropped "Straight..

Drop the Premix

Ok fans of exaltron, stop emailing me and demanding that I pre-release a funked-out 10 minute mash-up of sections of "20,000 Volts", "Focus", and a whole crapload of trumpetronics, searing guitar, burbling synths, and bombastic beats. I have heeded your whiny admonishments and posted the exaltrondotcom demo here. This will have to keep you chirpy birds quiet until April when I should be releasing the CD, which currently maintains a pretentious "untitled" status. Don't worry I'll name 'er before she comes down the pike.

Oh and also, I may have a gig coming up in the next coupla weeks in the East Village. Yay!!!
